Clare and I always thought of Patrick and Annette as our Uncle/Aunt, reflecting the closeness of the relationship between Patrick and our father Francis that developed during their university days at Manchester and lasted lifelong. You can see Frank in the "Joking around at wedding" photo (so delightful -- thanks Judy). Uncle Patrick was legendary in our family for his putdown one-liner to a waiter and other paper-shredding witticisms. I will always recall his jovial and caring manner that put all at ease. I imagine the undergrad buddies are presently larking about and getting up to mischief up there beyond the pearly gates....
